A camel safari in the desert of Sharm El Sheikh is a must-see excursion to complement your holiday in the Arab country. The camel is a symbol of the desert, otherwise they are called “Desert Caravans”. These animals are very valuable, especially in Eastern countries. And the Bedouins in the deserts found a better approach to them than all the other inhabitants of these countries.
The Bedouins are the indigenous population of the Sinai Peninsula, who consciously choose to live and continue their family far from civilization. But these people are very friendly, and even despite the difference in the Bedouin and Arabic languages, the Egyptians have found an approach to them and get along very well. During your camel safari, you will have the chance to visit a Bedouin tent and be treated to their natural tea.
The camels living with them are very friendly towards people and know their job well. In addition, camels have a very good memory, and if a Bedouin offends a camel (especially a male), it will definitely remember this and will look for opportunities to take revenge on the offender. The Bedouins know the character of these animals very well.
Some more interesting facts about camels: all camels in Egypt are one-humped. Almost all dromedary camels are domesticated, and the weight of one adult individual is on average 400-700 kg with a height at the withers of up to 230 cm. The hump on the back of a camel is a reserve of fat, which the body uses as energy. In addition, camels have excellent eyesight: they can see a moving car 3-5 km away, and long eyelashes and tightly closed nostrils protect the camel from the wind and desert sand.
