Petra in Jordan- is a stunning ancient city located in modern Jordan, located 900 meters above sea level and 660 meters above the surrounding area, right in the canyon called the Siq. Without understatement, this is one of the most beautiful creations of man, along with stunning reliefs of nature. The entire city is carved into a red-pink rock that was not visible just two centuries ago. Mentions of it were only on the pages of some works of scientists. Today, Petra is recognized as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and invites millions of tourists to visit it!
Due to strong temperature changes and the characteristics of the rocks in this place, winds with sand created a unique natural reserve, covering an area of 2002 km. This is definitely a place that you can tell a lot about, but it’s better to see it once!
Dear tourists, please pay your attention to:

Finally, when you reach the end of the canyon, around one of the turns you will see a stunning view of Al Khazneh carved into the rock.
– El Khazne
– translated from Arabic – “treasury”, a Nabatean temple from the Hellenistic era. According to the legend, it was formed when the Egyptian pharaoh who was pursuing Moses created this temple with the help of magic to hide his treasures in the highest urn. Even today you can see on it traces of shots from the Bedouins, who at one time tried to get the treasures from the urn. But in fact, it turned out that the urn was carved entirely from sandstone (sedimentary rock). There is also a version that the temple was built by the Nabatean king Aretas IV Philopatris as his personal tomb. The facade of the building is 40 meters high and 25 meters wide, at the entrance there are statues of the mythological twins – Castor and Pollux, but over time many of the facade sculptures were lost. According to legend, two figures of eagles located on the roof of the building carried away the soul of the deceased.
In addition, you will be able to see the ancient amphitheater for 8,000 people, Roman colonnades and a Vyzantine church.
And it was here that part of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, one of the highest-grossing films, was filmed, grossing $495 million. Therefore, you will touch not only ancient history, but also the history of modern cinematography. And of course, Indiana Jones fans come here to experience part of the filming of the film live.
